Overview

Welcome to the Science Technology Engineering Art and Math(S.T.E.A.M.) Community of Practice. This is a customized course that walks you through the process of creating and managing a community of practice(COP). You will go through the course asynchronously and synchronously with a group of your peers.  This particular COP is focused on Social and Emotional Learning.  That will be the domain of interest as selected by your group.

You will also develop a continuous quality improvement plan (CQI) as the tool through which you will engage with your COP.

Completing this course will help you:

  • Expand your content knowledge in the domain of your choice
  • Improve the quality of your program through a CQI process.
  • Develop new personal and professional relationships for networking and social and emotional support

Getting Started

In this section we give you a quick rundown on how to navigate through the learning path.  We also use this time to introduce our 1st knowledge modules. These are designed toteach you about communities of practice and the CQI process which you will need to employ to successfully complete this project.

Stage One-Prepare to Engage

Now we spend some time preparing you and your team to begin the CQI process.  We also build upon your content knowledge in the domain of interest you selected.

Stage Two-Assess Program Quality

In this stage, we begin the discussion of assessments and best practices for self-assessments.  We also continue to build upon our content knowledge.

Timeline: 1-2 weeks 

Stage Three-Plan to Improve

In this stage we begin the process of action planning and mobilizing the knowledge of your COP peers to support your CQI efforts.

Stage Four-Improve Program Quality

Now we spend some time preparing you and your team to begin the CQI process.  We also build upon your content knowledge in the domain of interest you selected.

Stage Five-Reflect on the CQI cycle

In the final stage we learn about the reflection process and codifying our lessons learned and better practices.
